About the role
Geotek Ltd is seeking a practical, hands-on Geotechnician to support with geological data acquisition. Reporting to the head of Global Operations, this role will contribute to the ongoing success of our core scanning and consulting projects.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist and support core scanning projects across the full workflow, from sample handling to collecting and processing geological, geochemical and mineralogical datasets
- Operate various Geotek core logging systems
- Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and presentations
- Collaborate with internal teams (research and development, and software) and clients
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and workshops to communicate findings
- Uphold data quality and contribute to workflow improvements
- Participate in occasional field deployment (onshore and offshore) or secondment overseas with other Geotek projects and teams. The frequency and duration of such travel and/or secondment will vary depending on project demands and organisational needs; typically up to 90 days
Candidate Requirements
- BSc in Geology, Earth Science, or related discipline
- At least one year of relevant industry/laboratory experience
- Knowledge of core logging or geological data workflows
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges in geological projects
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, in particular Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Fluency in English (written and verbal)
- Must have a full and clean driving license
- Eligibility to work in the UK

Recruitment Details
The closing date for this role is 27/03/2026
First round interviews are expected to take place the week commencing 13/04/2026. These will be 30 minute, online informal interviews.
Second round interviews will be conducted in the weeks following this, these will be in-person interviews and will be held at our premises in Daventry.
