20 Nov Geotek Introduce BoxScan at MINEX Russia 2020
Technoinfo, Geotek’s exclusive distributor in Russia and CIS, introduced Geotek’s new BoxScan core scanner, for use in the mining and mineral exploration industries at MINEX 2020! Earlier in the year, the Department for International Trade (DIT) asked Geotek if we would like to attend the 16th Mining and Exploration Forum to showcase our systems and services to Russian Mining Industry leaders. The hybrid event took place both online and in person in Moscow. Delegates were invited to safely participate and exhibit innovative solutions and technologies to facilitate the mining and mineral exploration industries in this region.
The DIT offered Geotek a space within their UK Pavilion showcasing UK export companies for the mining industry as well as an opportunity to deliver a live presentation to the MINEX forum. Konstantin Chekan, Leading Expert of the Natural Resources department of Technoinfo, delivered an exciting presentation on Geotek’s behalf, showcasing the new BoxScan system; a field deployable platform able to efficiently scan multiple cores in boxes for geochemical and geotechnical analysis. The rugged nature of the equipment allows for easy mobility to the mine-site, where scanning may be performed in near real-time to allow for informed and efficient project decisions to be made. The BoxScan acquires data for fracture evaluation and frequency, core composition through XRF and NIR spectrometry, colour spectrometry and high resolution linescan imagery to create a digital archive of the core samples prior to any destructive testing.
