Non-Destructive Data Acquisition

All of Geotek’s core logging services are non-destructive. Data acquisition is either through the core liner, or on bare rock or sediment core surface. The types of service Geotek provides include:

  • Continuous non-destructive physical property logging
  • High resolution X-ray radiography and CT
  • X-ray fluorescence and near-infrared logging
  • Superb quality linescan photography (core scanning)
  • Ultraviolet light core scanning

Onshore and Offshore Services

Core logging operations are conducted within our purpose-built core logging laboratory based at our offices in Daventry, UK, or within our mobile containerised laboratories. Geotek will mobilise these containerised laboratories with specialist staff to both onshore and offshore sites for industrial and research applications to acquire data in the field, saving valuable time and money.

Gas Hydrate and Marine Project Management Services

Geotek also specialises in providing gas hydrate, sediment analysis and marine project management services.  We have experience in project managing large marine survey projects such as the UK Offshore Strategic Environmental Assessment, research in the Caspian Sea, Black Sea, Japan, Malaysia, China, Korea, Gulf of Mexico, and the Indian National Gas Hydrate Program Expeditions.

For gas hydrate field expeditions, Geotek provides speciality services tailored to the requirement to identify and quantify gas hydrate, including pressure core analysis and geochemical services necessary for gas hydrate quantification and integration with downhole logs.
