Brown University XRF Integration
Peter and Melanie stopped by Brown University to integrate Jim Russell's handheld XRF with his MSCL-S. The Brown Innov-X Alpha handheld XRF spectrometer can now be run in an automated mode, collecting data along split cores or prepared samples in holders. For a demonstration of the working system, Jim used a Narragansett Bay core where the start of the Industrial Revolution could be clearly seen in elevated lead and copper levels. As Innov-X say, "instant geochemistry!"
