Two new MSCLs delivered to Germany
John has just returned from a week long trip to Germany where he delivered two new systems.
The first system, an MSCL-XYZ with a natural gamma sensor, was delivered to Marum at the University of Bremen. The system was purchase by the University of Leicester and was installed inside the IODP cold core store ready to start analysing the cores recovered during the recent IODP New Jersey shallow shelf expedition 313. The system will be measuring cores from the 3 sites drilled during expedition 313, a total of over 1200 metres.

The second system was an MSCL-CIS system purchased by the Alfred Wegener Institute in Bremerhaven. This new bench top imaging system was installed in the laboratories of the University of Cologne in preparation for the splitting and sampling of cores collected during the ICDP drilling program at Lake El'gygytgyn (a 3.6 million year old impact crater lake in NE Siberia).
