MSCL-S #101 Installation

On the 24th March Peter visited Brown University to install MSCL-S #101.

The core logger with gamma density and magnetic susceptibility sensors was installed in the Geological Sciences department of the University along with a Geoscan linescan imaging system.

The logger will be used to analyse lake sediment cores measuring the physical properties of the cores, and providing a high resolution imaging record of the split cores. The Earth Systems History Group intends to use this information to build a comprehensive palaeoclimate reconstruction from the geological record. This will aid their research into the history and dynamics of global climate and environmental change.
