MSCL(S) Upgrades and XYZ Installation

On the 28th of January Peter and Melanie flew to Canberra.

Peter and Melanie visited Geosciences Australia to provide a track and centre section upgrade to MSCL-S#27, permitting the logging of core in both the horizontal and vertical orientations. They also received a computer and electronics upgrade with a larger storage capacity and faster processing.

Following this, on the 1st February Peter and Melanie visited Hobart and the University of Tasmania, who have purchased MSCL-S#79 and an MSCL-XYZ for the AMIRA project. The MSCL-XYZ system, shall be used to provide an image database of the rock cores for analysis within the AMIRA project.
