ETH Upgrade

On the 28th January, John visited the ETH Technology University of Zurich, to upgrade MSCL-S#32.

John visited the Climate Geology department of the Institute of Geology and installed new P-wave velocity transducers and replaced the computer system for one with a superior operating specification. John also took time to maintain the mechanics and check the system calibrations.

The MSCL-S is used to analyse both marine and lake sediment cores. The research using tools such as the MSCL, is aimed at climate change over geologic and annual timescales with particular emphasis on periods of extreme climate and the driving mechanisms for such significant changes.
