Hangzhou: Second Institute of Oceanography (MSCL #106)

Hangzhou was the next stop on the Geotek Far East Tour, where Peter and Melanie installed an MSCL at the Second Institute of Oceanography. This MSCL also has gamma density, P-wave velocity, magnetic susceptibility, and electrical resistivity sensors.

Qingdao: First Institute of Oceanography (MSCL #113)

At the First Institute of Oceanography in Qingdao, Peter and Melanie installed an MSCL in the brand-new laboratories associated with the core repository. The MSCL has gamma density, P-wave velocity, magnetic susceptibility, and electrical resistivity sensors. They also made time to visit the Qingdao Institute of Marine Geology.

Beijing Visit

The Geotek Far East Tour continued in Beijing, where Peter and Melanie visited the China University of Petroleum, the Key Laboratory for Continental Dynamics (Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences),

Taiwan Visit

6th July 2009

Peter and Melanie visited Taiwan to install an electrical resistivity upgrade at the Naval Academy for Dr Lou and to make courtesy calls to the core loggers at the Institute of Earth Sciences (Academia Sinica) and the Central Geological Survey. They also visited Prof. Saulwood LIN at National Taiwan University, who has been using the Naval Academy's MSCL-S.

MSCL-S #111 IACT Granada Installation

John installed MSCL-S #111 at the Instituto Andaluz de Ciencias de la Tierra.

The MSCL-S system was installed with gamma density, p-wave velocity and magnetic susceptibility sensors.
