National Gas Hydrate Program, Bay of Bengal, India. Operated, calibrated, and maintained instruments used in analyzing the physical properties of deep-sea cores.

1998 - 2004
Ocean Drilling Program. Marine Lab Specialist, R/V JOIDES Resolution.

Physical Properties Lab: Duties included operating, calibrating, and maintaining a whole core multi sensor track, split core track, Geotek digital imaging system, and Geotek IR camera track.
Chemistry Lab: Responsible for the maintenance and calibration of analytical instruments, and the collection and analysis of samples taken from deep-sea cores.
Other Shipboard Duties: Involved with all aspects of processing and archiving recovered cores. Participated in the deployment and recovery of seismic gear. Member of the marine fire fighting team. Assisted with the loading, securing, and offloading of scientific equipment while in port.

In charge of the deployment and recovery of a Mark VII sediment trap and Benthos acoustic release system at sites located off the Carolina coasts and US Virgin Islands.

Offshore Experience

Over 20 ocean-going expeditions worldwide on academic and commercial oceanographic research vessels and drilling vessels.
